Graham graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1981 with his law degrees. He subsequently returned to complete his Bachelor of Arts winning a major prize in history.

In the next 8 years he was a solicitor and then later a partner in two important law firms in Western Australia carrying out a wide-range of work but concentrating on industrial law and personal injury litigation.

In 1990 Graham moved to Melbourne for 3 years where he was an associate in a prominent labour law and personal injury firms, Slater & Gordon and Holding Redlich.

Between 1993 and 1996, he returned to Dwyer Durack as a partner, again practicing mainly in industrial law and personal injury litigation. During that period, Graham acted in a de facto role as in-house Counsel appearing in many of his own trials and those of other solicitors in the firm. By mid 1996 his personal preference for advocacy work translated into a decision to join the Western Australian Bar.

In the years that followed, his involvement in large cases involving brain injury, spinal injuries and major medical negligence has led to a greater concentration on personal injury litigation. Graham finds the challenges of not accepting the mantra of “that’s the way it’s done” to be both personally rewarding and also transformative of the rights of seriously injured clients.

In 2003, Graham left Francis Burt Chambers to join the dynamic new Chambers which had been established by Percy QC and Trowell QC. He has enjoyed the intimacy and support within these Chambers, but also the high degree of autonomy afforded by the structure of Albert Wolff Chambers.

Outside of the law, Graham is married and has four children who have kept him busy with their varied endeavours. He has the pleasure of representing Bangladesh as its Honorary Consul-General. Graham also enjoys engaging in the building of the capacity of the State to meet the many demands for a skilled workforce in the years to come through the North Metro TAFE.

With a lifelong interest in the performing arts, Graham also tries to find time to watch the Dockers and get to the opera to keep things in balance.

  • Personal injury
  • Medical negligence
